Ronda Rousey, born on February 1, 1987, in Riverside, California, is a former mixed martial artist known for her success in the UFC and later WWE. In 2012, she became the UFC women’s bantamweight champion and defended her title six times. By 2014, she was recognized as the world’s consensus #1 pound-for-pound female MMA fighter. Transitioning to WWE in 2018, she quickly became Raw Women’s Champion in her first reign and has also pursued acting with roles in films like Furious 7 and The Expendables 3.
Prior to gaining fame as an MMA fighter, Rousey appeared prominently on the cover of ESPN The Magazine’s 2012 Body Issue. She also competed at the Olympic Games in both Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008), securing a bronze medal that made her the first American woman to achieve Olympic judo success.
