About Sunny
Sunny, born on May 15, 1989 in California, is a Korean American pop singer, dancer and actress. She is best known for her time as a member of the South Korean group Girls’ Generation and for her roles in the films Koala Kid: Birth of A Hero and Rio 2.
Prior to achieving fame, she joined Starlight Entertainment in 1998 and underwent five years of training before becoming part of the duo Sugar. However, the duo never debuted and disbanded shortly after.
Moreover, Sunny earned praise for her performance as Brenda Strong in the Korean theater production of Catch Me If You Can in 2012; this role led to a nomination for Korea’s equivalent of a Tony Award.
