Emily Torres (born August 29, 1996) is an American pop singer from Port Huron, Michigan. She is best known as the lead singer of the alternative pop duo Lilac Lungs, alongside her musical partner John Birrell. The duo released their debut self-titled EP in February of 2016.
Prior to gaining recognition through her music career, Torres gained attention for a YouTube video titled “Ellen: Get Bruno to Bok Wit Me?” in December 2012. In the video, she asked Ellen DeGeneres to help her get Bruno Mars to take her to junior prom. This caught the attention of Ellen Degeneres and led to an appearance on her show where Bruno surprised Torres with both a dance and a Gucci gown for her prom.
In a charitable act following her prom experience, Torres auctioned off the Gucci gown given by Bruno Mars for charity. Her father and younger brother also made appearances in the aforementioned YouTube video.
