About Zali Steggall
Zali Steggall, born on April 16, 1974, in Sydney, Australia, is one of the country’s most successful alpine skiers. She achieved Olympic bronze in the 1998 slalom and secured World Championship gold in the 1999 slalom.
Steggall was born in Manly, New South Wales and spent ten years living in France from 1978 to 1988 where she developed her skiing skills.
In recognition of her accomplishments, she was honored with induction into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2004. Her brother Zeke also excelled as an Olympic snowboarder. In addition to her sporting endeavors, Zali married David Cameron – an Olympic rower – in 1999; however they divorced in 2007.
