About Yvonne van Gennip
Yvonne van Gennip is a Dutch speed skater born on May 1, 1964, in the Netherlands. She is known for her remarkable performance at the 1988 Winter Olympics where she secured three gold medals in the 1500, 3000, and 5000 meter races.
Prior to her Olympic success, van Gennip had undergone foot surgery less than two months before the games. Despite this obstacle, she went on to achieve outstanding results in her events.
Throughout her career, she set four World Records with two of them being established during the 1988 Olympics. Her father Vader van Gennip was also involved in speed skating during his younger years.
