About Yvonne Furneaux
Yvonne Furneaux (born May 11, 1928) is a French movie actress best known for her role as Emma in the 1960 Federico Fellini film La Dolce Vita. She has also appeared in The Dark Avenger, Night Train to Milan, The Count of Monte Cristo, and other Italian, English, and French feature films.
Before pursuing a career in acting, Furneaux studied in the modern languages department at St. Hilda’s College, Oxford. She made her screen debut in the 1952 British movie Meet Me Tonight.
After retiring from acting in the 1980s, Furneaux settled in Lausanne, Switzerland. She was born Elisabeth Yvonne Scatcherd in Roubaix, France and relocated to England during her late teens. Her marriage to Jacques Natteau ended with his death in 2007.
