Yolanda Vargas Dulche (born July 18, 1926) is a Mexican screenwriter known for her work on several popular Mexican soap operas and for creating the iconic comic book character Memín Pinguín. She is also recognized for penning the El Pecado de Oyuki and Maria Isabel comic book series.
Prior to her writing career, Vargas was an on-air radio singer for XEW-AM station in Mexico City. One of her notable works includes the late 1960s series titled Rubi, which earned her widespread recognition in the Mexican telenovela world.
Vargas’ personal life includes a marriage to Guillermo de la Parra and five children, including Emoe de la Parra, who became a prominent Mexican stage and screen actress.
