About Yingluck Shinawatra
Yingluck Shinawatra (born June 21, 1967) is a Thai politician and businesswoman who made history by becoming the first female Prime Minister of Thailand in 2011. Hailing from San Kamphaeng, Thailand, she attended Chiang Mai University where she studied Political Science and Public Administration before earning a graduate degree in Management Information Systems from Kentucky State University.
Before her political career, Shinawatra worked as a sales intern for an AT&T affiliate telephone company. She comes from a politically influential family; her brother Thaksin also served as Prime Minister until he was exiled in a military coup. Notably one of the youngest prime ministers in Thai history, Yingluck Shinawatra has eight older siblings and later married Anusorn Amornchat in 1995.
The couple had one son named Supasek. Aside from her political role, Yingluck has been active in the business world making significant strides as both a leader and an entrepreneur.
