About Yevgeniya Kanayeva
Yevgeniya Kanayeva is a renowned rhythmic gymnast and considered one of the best in the world. She was born on April 2, 1990, in Russia and achieved all-around gold medals at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics.
Kanayeva holds the distinction of being the first rhythmic gymnast to win gold medals in the all-around at two Olympic Games. She was born in Omsk and received training at the prestigious School of Olympic Reserve.
She set numerous records for most World and European titles, further solidifying her status as a dominant force in rhythmic gymnastics. Notably, she became history’s first rhythmic gymnast to claim gold in all six events at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships.
Kanayeva was coached by her father, retired Greco-Roman wrestler Oleg Kanaev.
