About Yemi Alade
Yemi Alade is a Nigerian pop singer born on March 13, 1989, in Abia, Nigeria. She gained fame for her hit single “Johnny” in 2013 and has been recognized with nominations for the Nigeria Entertainment Award and ELOY Award. With over 2.1 million Twitter followers and more than 17 million Instagram followers, she has built a large fanbase.
Prior to her music career, Alade appeared in the 2009 edition of the Peak Talent Show before releasing her debut single “Fimisile.” Her first album, King of Queens, was released in 2014. Outside of music, she completed an undergraduate degree in geography at the University of Lagos.
Alade hails from a family with Yoruba and Igbo heritage and is one of seven children born to Helen Uzoma and police commissioner James Alade. She grew up in Nigeria’s Abia state.
