Yelena Romanova (born March 20, 1963) was a Russian middle distance runner known for her outstanding career in track and field.
She is best remembered for winning the gold medal in the 3000 meter event at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. Prior to this achievement, she had showcased her talent by securing a fifth-place finish at the World Championships in 1987.
In addition to her Olympic triumph, she also clinched first place at the 1990 European Championships in the 10,000 meter event.
