Yasuha is a Japanese singer, songwriter, television personality, record producer, and entrepreneur. She was born on January 17, 1961 in Tokyo, Japan. Yasuha gained recognition for her song “Flyday Chinatown” and her work as a television and radio personality in Japan.
Before pursuing a career in music and entertainment, Yasuha learned classical music as a child with the intention of attending music college to further her training. However, after failing to get accepted into a music college, she shifted her focus towards becoming a Japanese pop singer and television personality. Yasuha made her debut in 1981 with the release of the single “Flyday Chinatown,” followed by her debut album titled “Transit.” Additionally, she began making appearances on various television and radio programs starting from 1979.
Notably, Yasuha’s “Transit” album was heavily influenced by Billy Joel and his contemporaries. She also published a book detailing her divorce from actor Koasa Shunputei and had an engagement with an Iranian businessman named Mehdi Kazempour before eventually calling it off. Interestingly, the Pokémon character Wobbuffet is said to be an homage to her father Sanpei.
