About Wendy Harmer
Wendy Harmer (born October 10, 1955) is an Australian writer and radio host. She is best known for her humorous “chick lit” books including It’s a Joke, Joyce (1989) and Roadside Sisters (2009). Before gaining success as an author, she studied journalism at the Gordon Institute of Technology and worked as a reporter for the Geelong Advertiser.
In addition to her literary pursuits, Harmer has had a successful career in radio hosting. She also published her debut young adult novel titled I Lost My Mobile at the Mall in 2009. Harmer grew up with two brothers – Phillip and Noel – as well as a sister named Helen. She raised two children with her husband Brendan.
