Vivienne Tam is a renowned fashion designer, known for founding the East Wind Code fashion collection and later establishing her eponymous fashion line. Born in Guangzhou, China on November 28, 1957, Tam has been celebrated for blending eastern and western clothing styles to create popular designs.
During the first two decades of her career, she opened boutiques in major cities such as Hong Kong, Tokyo, and New York. Prior to achieving fame, Tam studied fashion in London and at the Polytechnic Fashion School in Hong Kong.
In addition to her contributions to the fashion industry, Vivienne Tam collaborated with Hewlett Packard engineers to design a special line of computers. She spent her early childhood in Guangzhou before moving to Hong Kong; ultimately settling in New York City.
