Vivian Liberto, born on April 23, 1934 in San Antonio, Texas, was an autobiographer known for her memoir detailing her time with the famous singer Johnny Cash. Titled “I Walked the Line: My Life with Johnny,” the autobiography was published in 2007.
Before gaining fame as an author, Liberto grew up in Texas and met Johnny Cash at the age of seventeen while on summer vacation. Despite later marrying a renowned musician, their early years together were marked by financial struggles as they lived from paycheck to paycheck.
Vivian was raised by Irene Robinson and Thomas Liberto alongside an older brother and younger sister before going on to have four daughters with Johnny Cash.
