Vinnie Dombroski is a rock singer born on December 4, 1962 in Detroit, Michigan. He is best known as the lead vocalist and songwriter for the band Sponge. Additionally, he has performed as the frontman of Spys4Darwin and co-founded The Lucid. Not limited to vocals, Dombroski has also showcased his drumming skills with bands like Warp Drive and Loudhouse while leading Crud, The Orbitsuns, and Diamondbuck.
Dombroski’s early interest in music led him to start playing guitar and drums at age 12. His first public performance was at age 13 alongside a friend in their two-person band called The Crypton in Detroit.
He has cited influential figures such as David Bowie, Alice Cooper, and Rolling Stones among his inspirations. In addition to his singing career, he dabbles in producing music.
Growing up with a father who was a gigging musician shaped Dombroski’s passion for music from an early age. He is now married with five children.
