About Victoria Derbyshire
Victoria Derbyshire is an English broadcast journalist born on October 2, 1968 in England. She is best known for her work as a presenter on BBC Radio 5 Live and the BBC News Channel, where she has earned accolades such as the Nick Clarke Award in 2009 and two Sony Academy Awards.
Prior to her media career, Derbyshire studied English at the University of Liverpool and later pursued journalism at the University of Central Lancashire. In 1998, she joined BBC Radio 5 Live.
In addition to her journalistic endeavors, Derbyshire appeared on season 20 of the television series I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here. Her contributions to broadcasting were recognized by awards including being named Sony Academy’s Speech Broadcaster of the Year in 2012 along with winning their Best News & Current Affairs Programme Award earlier.
Darbyshire is also a devoted family person having two sons with her husband Mark.
