About Verity Lambert
Verity Lambert (born November 27, 1935) is an English television producer known for her work on various successful shows, most notably as the original producer of Doctor Who. Prior to her career in television production, Lambert worked as a secretary at Granada Television and later as a typist at ABC. She steadily climbed the ranks in the industry before becoming one of the few female producers in British television.
Aside from Doctor Who, Lambert also contributed to other popular productions such as The Naked Civil Servant, Jonathan Creek, and Love Soup. She was particularly noted for her long tenure as producer on Rumpole of the Bailey from 1978 to 1992. Lambert was married to Colin Bucksey from 1973 until 1987.
