She gained notoriety for her role as Princess Henutmire on the RecordTV telenovela Os Dez Mandamentos and went on to star in O Rico e Lazaro in 2017. Zimmermann made her professional acting debut in the 1983 film Onda Nova. In addition to her acting career, she was featured on the controversial cover of an issue of Epoca magazine in 2005.
