About Venetia Stevenson
Venetia Stevenson, born Joanna Venetia Invicta Stevenson on March 10, 1938 in London, England, is an English-American film and television actress. She made her acting debut in Phoenix in 1955 alongside her mother in Liliom, with the husband-and-wife team of Fernando Lamas and Arlene Dahl.
Stevenson gained recognition for her roles in films such as The City of the Dead (1960), where she played Nan Barlow. In addition to her acting career, she was a one-time Miss Los Angeles Press Club and was named one of movie’s top newcomers by Hedda Hopper.
She has been married to prominent figures such as actor-dancer Russ Tamblyn of West Side Story fame and Don Everly of The Everly Brothers rock n’ roll duo. Her affair with Audie Murphy during the early 60s garnered public attention as well.
Born into a family deeply rooted in Hollywood culture, Stevenson’s father was film director Robert Stevenson and her mother was renowned actress Anna Lee. She has two daughters with Don Everly – Stacy and Erin Everly – both model/actresses who have left their mark on popular culture. Erin became known for being the inspiration behind several Guns N’ Roses songs after marrying vocalist Axl Rose.
