Vashtie Kola is a director, filmmaker, model, artist, and DJ best known for her work in the fashion industry. She was born on April 23, 1981 in Albany, New York and is of Trinidadian heritage. After studying film at the School of Visual Arts, she began to establish herself in New York City in 1999.
Kola later started the clothing line Violette and has directed music videos for numerous well-known artists. She also worked as a model and appeared in a DKNY campaign alongside supermodel Cara Delevingne. Notably, she dated Pharrell Williams in the early 2000s.
