About Vanessa Bell Armstrong
Vanessa Bell Armstrong (born November 11, 1953) is a renowned gospel singer hailing from Detroit, Michigan. She has earned accolades including the Stellar Award and Soul Train Award for her contributions to the genre with albums like Chosen, Following Jesus, and Something on the Inside. In addition to her music career, she appeared in the Broadway production of Don’t Get God Started in 1991 and was featured on Oprah Winfrey‘s TV special, The Women of Brewster Place.
Prior to gaining fame, Armstrong made her solo debut with the album Peace Be Still in 1983. The title track of this release became one of her signature songs throughout her career. Notably, she has garnered seven Grammy Award nominations across various categories and was presented an honorary doctorate degree in theology from Next Dimension University in 2017.
