Valerie Harper, born on August 22, 1939 in Suffern, New York, is a renowned TV actress best known for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its spin-off series Rhoda. Throughout her career, she has received four Emmy Awards for this iconic role. In 2013, she also participated in the 17th season of Dancing with the Stars.
Prior to her rise to fame on television, Harper began her career as a dancer and chorus girl in various Broadway productions. She made her big screen debut in the 1956 film Rock Rock Rock!.
