About Valentina Shevchenko
Valentina Shevchenko is a UFC bantamweight champion and world-renowned Muay Thai fighter. She started her martial arts journey at the age of five, when she began learning taekwondo – and by twelve, had branched out into kickboxing. It was in 2003 that Valentina made her debut in MMA fighting. Her mother and older sister Antonina were also taekwondo practitioners. In January 2017, she beat Julianna Pena on UFC on Fox, and was expected to fight Amanda Nunes for the title at UFC 213 – but unfortunately Nunes pulled out due to illness on the day of the bout.
