About Val Lehman
Val Lehman is an Australian TV actress born on March 15, 1943, in Perth, Australia. She is most well-known for her award-winning role as Bea Smith in the television series Prisoner, which garnered her multiple Logie Awards and two Gold Logie nominations. In 2016, she participated in the Australian version of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
Before achieving fame with her portrayal of Bea Smith, Lehman appeared in shows such as Bellbird, Homicide, Tandarra and Outbreak of Love. She honed her acting skills at the National Theatre Drama School and The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
In addition to her success on screen, Lehman also starred on stage in a production of Grease is the Word. Her family has also had ties to show business – both of her daughters Cassandra and Joanne appeared alongside their mother in Prisoner. Val’s son Jason completes her family.
Lehman was married to Charles Collins from 1989 until 2005.
