About Uzo Aduba
Uzo Aduba is a TV actress born on February 10, 1981, in Boston, Massachusetts. She is best known for her portrayal of Crazy Eyes in the popular series Orange Is the New Black. Her performance earned her a Primetime Emmy Award and Screen Actors Guild Award.
Prior to her acting career, Aduba studied classical voice and was a track and field athlete at Boston University. She gained recognition for her performance in Translations of Xhosa at the Olney Theatre Center for the Arts, earning a Helen Hayes Award nomination.
Aduba made her Broadway debut in Coram Boy in 2007 and later appeared on television in an episode of Blue Bloods in 2012. Born to Nigerian parents, she grew up in Medfield before marrying filmmaker Robert Sweeting privately. In June 2023, she announced that she was expecting their first child.
