About Tova Traesnaes
Tova Traesnaes was born on November 17, 1941 in Norway. She is known for being an entrepreneur and perhaps most notably for her marriage to American screen actor Ernest Borgnine. Traesnaes rose to fame as the founder of the successful cosmetics company Beauty by Tova.
Prior to her success in the cosmetics industry, Traesnaes took acting classes in New York City and opened a makeup studio in New Jersey. Her relocation to Las Vegas, Nevada led her to become well-known for selling a cactus-derived facial cream to Hollywood celebrities.
She received the Women’s Fragrance of the Year FiFi Award in 1998 for her contributions to the fragrance industry. Traesnaes comes from an artist father and a United States Embassy translator mother and spent her early years in Oslo, Norway. Her first marriage resulted in one child but ended in divorce; she later married Ernest Borgnine from 1973 until his death in 2012.
