About Tia Blake
Tia Blake was an American writer and folk singer born on April 13, 1952, in Columbus, Georgia. She gained recognition with the release of her debut album “Folk Songs and Ballads: Tia Blake and Her Folk-group” in February 1972.
Prior to her musical career, she spent time working at Farrar, Straus, and Giroux in New York before relocating to Paris. In Paris, she recorded folk songs at Ossian Studio, leading to the creation of her first album.
After graduating from Smith College in 1989, she pursued a career as a freelance writer and editor based in North Carolina.
Tragically, Tia Blake passed away in Pinehurst, North Carolina. She was laid to rest next to her two brothers Chris and Peter in North Hatley Quebec ,Canada.
