Thuso Mbedu Nokwanda, born on July 8th, 1991 in Johannesburg, South Africa, is a prominent TV actress. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Kitso Medupe in the e.tv soap opera Scandal! and also appeared as Boni Khumalo in Saints and Sinners.Prior to her acting career, Mbedu studied physical theatre and performing arts management at the University of the Witwatersrand. During her studies there, she received the university council merit scholarship and a New York University summer program scholarship.

Mbedu’s upbringing was shaped by being raised by her grandmother after growing up without her parents. She also has an older sister.
