Tara Dakides is a California-born snowboarder, born on August 20, 1975. She gained recognition not only for her skills in the sport but also as the co-owner of O-matic Snowboards. In 2001, she graced the cover of Sports Illustrated, hailed as The Coolest Sports Woman.
Before rising to fame in snowboarding, Dakides engaged in various extreme sports during her childhood including skateboarding, motocross, and surfing.
A notable event in her career was an incident on The Late Show with David Letterman in 2004 where she suffered a fall during a stunt that resulted in hospitalization. Additionally fueled by personal inspiration following a breakup, Dakides notably tattooed the word “Love” on her foot.
