About Susanna Moore
Susanna Moore (born December 9, 1945) is an American memoirist and writer. She is best known for her 2003 memoir, “I Myself Have Seen It: The Myth of Hawai’i,” and has also worked as a creative writing professor at Yale and Princeton. Born in Pennsylvania, she grew up in Hawaii before publishing her first novel, “My Old Sweetheart,” in 1982.
Moore has received several literary awards including a Fellowship in Literature at the American Academy in Berlin and the Academy Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. She was married to Richard Sylbert from 1973 to 1978 and they have a daughter named Lulu.
