Susan Davis (born April 13, 1944) is an American politician and member of the Democratic Party. She has been representing California in Congress since 2001.
Davis holds memberships in six caucuses, including the Pro-Choice Caucus. Prior to her political career, she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and earned a master’s degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
During her time serving in the California State Assembly, Davis authored a state law granting women direct access to their OB/Gyn doctors without requiring a referral from their primary care physicians.
Her husband Steve Davis was a doctor in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.
