About Susan Cowsill
Susan Cowsill, born on May 20, 1959 in Ohio, is a pop singer known for her success as a member of the family band The Cowsills. She gained recognition as the vocalist for their popular track “Hair” and later went on to become an acoustic guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter for the rock band the Continental Drifters.
Cowsill made her debut with The Cowsills at the age of nine, contributing to albums such as We Can Fly (1968) and Captain Sad and His Ship of Fools (1968), along with hit single “Indian Lake.” Following Hurricane Katrina’s devastation in 2005, she wrote, performed, and released a track titled “Crescent City Sneaux” in response to the disaster that claimed her brother Barry’s life.
Born to Barbara and Bud Cowsill in Canton, Ohio, Susan has three older brothers who were also members of The Cowsills. With her first husband Peter Holsapple she has a daughter named Miranda; she married Russ Broussard in 2003.
