About Susan Berman
Susan Berman (born May 18, 1945) is an American non-fiction author and journalist known for her mob-inspired novels such as Easy Street: The True Story of a Mob Family, where she discusses being the daughter of a mobster. Prior to earning her master’s degree in journalism from UC Berkeley, she graduated from UCLA.
In 1996, Berman was nominated for a Writers Guild of America award for her work on the television documentary Driver, Give a Soldier a Lift! and Lady Las Vegas. She gained national attention when her murder by Robert Durst was featured on the show 48 Hours.
Berman’s father, David Berman, was a former member of the Jewish mob who at his peak ran Las Vegas’ Flamingo Hotel.
