Sue Raney is an American jazz singer, born on June 18, 1940 in California. She began her singing career at the young age of four and gained early recognition when she joined Jack Carson’s Los Angeles radio show at just fourteen years old.
In 1958, Raney debuted with her album titled When Your Lover Has Gone. She continued to expand her career as a jazz vocalist and also ventured into other forms of performance art, such as lending her voice to the character Patti Bear in The Great Bear Scare, an animated Halloween production.
Raney’s mother played a significant role in encouraging and supporting her daughter’s musical path from an early age. Sue Raney remains celebrated for her contributions to the jazz music industry.
