About Sue Hendrickson
Sue Hendrickson is an American paleontologist known for her discovery of Tyrannosaurus rex bones in South Dakota in 1990, which led to the naming of the skeleton as “Sue” in her honor. Born on December 2, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, she developed a passion for scuba diving before studying marine biology at the University of Washington.
In addition to her significant contribution to paleontology, Hendrickson received special honors at the Glamour Woman of the Year Awards in 2005. She has two younger siblings named John and Karen.
