Stormie Omartian is a prolific religious author born on September 16, 1942, in Brentwood, Tennessee. She is widely known for her “The Power of..” series, including the popular “The Power of a Praying Wife,” which has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide as of July 2016. In addition to this best-selling work, she has written over 50 Christian nonfiction books.
Prior to her writing career, Omartian aspired to be a singer and theater actress and made appearances on The Dean Martin Show and Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour during the late 1960s.
Her book “The Power of a Praying Wife” broke industry records when it remained on the Christian Booksellers Association best-seller list for 27 consecutive weeks in 2002. In addition to her literary accomplishments, she released an album of hymns titled The Prayer That Changes Everything in 2005.
Omartian has been married to her husband Michael for over four decades and they have two children together.
