About Stephanie Izard
Stephanie Izard (born October 30, 1976) is an award-winning chef known for being the first female winner of Bravo’s Top Chef in season four. She hails from Evanston, Illinois and has gained recognition as the owner and creator of popular restaurants including Girl & the Goat, Little Goat Diner, and Duck Duck Goat. In 2010, she was named one of Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chefs.
Prior to her culinary success, Izard graduated with a degree in sociology from the University of Michigan in 1998 before attending Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Scottsdale where she graduated in 1999. She opened her first restaurant, Scylla at age 27.
Izard has received commendations for her work, including a nomination for best new restaurant by the James Beard Foundation for Girl & the Goat in 2011 and winning the Beard award for Best Chef Great Lakes in 2013. Born in Evanston but raised in Stamford, Connecticut, Izard continues to be a trailblazer in the culinary world.
