About Stella Young
Stella Young was a prominent Australian comedian known for her award-winning Melbourne International Comedy Festival show Tales from the Crip. She gained widespread recognition for her impactful 2014 TED talk titled “I’m Not Your Inspiration, Thank You Very Much.” Prior to her comedic career, Young earned a journalism degree from Deakin University in Geelong and an education diploma from the University of Melbourne. She also worked at the Melbourne Museum and hosted a disability-themed television program called No Limits. Born on February 24, 1982, in Stawell, Victoria, Australia, she lived with osteogenesis imperfecta – a congenital condition that confined her to a wheelchair throughout her life.
