About Sowon
Sowon, born Kim So-Jung on December 7, 1995 in Seoul, South Korea, is a rapper and a member of the K-Pop girl group GFriend. Since the group’s debut in 2015, they have received several new artist awards, including Best New Artist at the Seoul Music Awards.
Prior to her debut with GFriend, Sowon appeared in the music video for Rainbow’s single “To Me” in 2011. She also made an appearance with bandmate Yuju on the SBS variety show Inkigayo in 2016.
In July of 2020, GFriend released their third studio album titled Walpurgis Night. Sowon comes from a family where she has one older sister.
