Sophie came from an aristocratic family in Bohemia and served as a lady-in-waiting to the Archduchess Isabella, Duchess of Teschen before meeting Franz Ferdinand.
She and her husband were both tragically assassinated in 1914, an event that sparked World War I. Despite not being a member of a ruling family at the time, Sophie overcame obstacles to marry Franz Ferdinand. The couple had four children together.
