Sofia Vergara, born on July 10, 1972 in Barranquilla, Colombia, is a TV actress known for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the popular show Modern Family. Prior to this, she hosted several Univision shows and has appeared in films such as Hot Pursuit, The Smurfs, Machete Kills and Fading Gigolo.
Before her acting career took off, Vergara studied pre-dentistry in Colombia for three years but ultimately transitioned into modeling. She has received nominations for prestigious awards including the Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award while also earning multiple Emmy Award nominations for her comedic performance on Modern Family. In addition to her work in television and film, she has served as a judge on America’s Got Talent since 2020.
Vergara comes from a tight-knit family with a sister named Sandra and once had an older brother named Rafael who tragically lost his life in Bogota back in 1998. She was married to Joe Gonzalez from 1991-1993 with whom she shares a son named Manolo. Following their divorce,she was engaged to Nick Loeb until their separation in May of 2014 before marrying actor Joe Manganiello in November of 2015; however they announced their separation emerged later,in July of2023.
