About Skyler Day
Skyler Day is an American TV actress and country singer, born on August 2, 1991 in Cumming, Georgia. She is best known for her roles as Maggie Ritter on TeenNick’s Gigantic and as Amy Ellis on NBC’s Parenthood. In addition to her television work, she starred opposite Alan Tudyk in the Vimeo series Con Man in 2015.
Day spent her early life competing in gymnastics and cheerleading before being homeschooled after second grade. Discovered by a talent agent at the age of six while waiting in line at the DMV, she pursued acting and songwriting classes, which eventually led to her first role in a short film titled A Perilous Dance: The Damon DeRivers Story filmed in Atlanta.
In addition to her acting career, Day has also ventured into music; she sings country and plays guitar with an EP titled Between the I and the You released on iTunes and Spotify in October 2014. She continues to post her music on YouTube.
Coming from a family deeply rooted in gymnastics – both of her parents were gymnasts – Day holds strong beliefs within Christianity. Her father transitioned from owning a gym to working within construction management. Day has two siblings – Dalton (brother) & Savannah (sister), and married actor Ian Nelson.
