About Simone Ann-Marie Edwards
Simone Ann-Marie Edwards was born on November 17, 1973, in Kingston, Jamaica. She is a Jamaican-American basketball player who gained recognition for her time playing for the New York Liberty and Seattle Storm in the WNBA. Notably, she was the first Jamaican player to join the league.

Prior to her basketball career, Edwards caught the eye of an American college coach while competing in a track meet in Jamaica. Her talent shone through during her junior college years at Seminole State College.
An interesting fact about her career with Seattle Storm is that she was the only player to participate in every game during its first six seasons. She clinched a WNBA championship with this team in 2004.
In addition to her playing days, Edwards delved into coaching as well. In 2007, she took up an assistant coach position at Radford University before serving as an assistant at George Mason University from 2008 to 2011.
