About Silvana Imam
Silvana Imam, born on September 19, 1986 in Stockholm, Sweden, is a Swedish rapper known for her feminist and anti-racist lyrics. She gained attention for her performance at a rally protesting a 2013 neo-Nazi attack. Silvana has released solo albums such as Rekviem and Naturkraft.
Prior to her fame in the music industry, she wrote poems during her upbringing and began rapping at the age of 22 after experiencing a breakup. At that time, she was pursuing a master’s degree in psychology.
Aside from her solo work, Silvana is also recognized as a member of the collective RMH. She comes from Syrian and Lithuanian descent and is openly gay; she has been involved with fellow musician Beatrice Eli both personally and professionally.
