About Shoma Uno
Shoma Uno is a Japanese figure skater born on December 17, 1997, in Nagoya, Japan. He gained recognition for being the first skater to successfully land a quadruple flip in an international competition. Uno has achieved success as a medalist at events such as the Grand Prix of Figure Skating and the World Junior Figure Skating Championships. He also won a silver medal at the 2018 Olympics and later became the World Figure Skating Champion in 2022.
Uno began skating at age five and was inspired by Daisuke Takahashi. He set a junior men’s record for total points during the 2014-15 Junior Grand Prix Final and is only the third Japanese man to win the world title at the Olympics.
He comes from a family of two siblings, with one younger brother.
