Shirley Temple, born on April 23, 1928 in Santa Monica, California, was a prominent movie actress known for her roles in films such as Curly Top and Heidi. In 1935, she received a Juvenile Academy Award for her contributions to the film industry and later served as a U.S. Ambassador beginning in 1974.
Before fame, Temple began acting at the age of four in a series titled Baby Burlesks. She retired from acting at the age of 22 but continued to be remembered for her performances in Glad Rags to Riches, Bright Eyes, Fort Apache, and A Little Princess.
In addition to her successful career on screen, Temple’s personal life also garnered attention. She married John Agar in 1945 before divorcing him five years later. In 1950 she married Charles Alden Black with whom she had two children named Charles Jr. and Lori.
