About Shirley Strong
Shirley Strong is an English runner and sprinter born on November 18, 1958. She is best known for her achievement of winning a silver medal in the 100M hurdles at the 1984 Olympics held in Los Angeles.
She began her national career in 1977 and achieved recognition by finishing second in the 100M hurdles at both the UK Athletics Championship and AAA Championship. Another notable accomplishment was her gold medal win in the same event at the 1982 Commonwealth Games held in Brisbane.
Following her retirement from competitive athletics, she devoted her time to raising two daughters in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.
