Shelley Lares (born November 13, 1971) is a World Music singer from Texas. She gained prominence as a singer-songwriter in the Tejano music scene and is known for hit albums such as Quiero Ser Tu Amante and Shelley.
Before her rise to fame, Lares and her cousin were part of The New Generation Band, which later changed its name to The Shelly Lares Band.
Lares’ contributions to the music industry have not gone unnoticed, as she was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year at the Tejano Music Awards for thirteen consecutive years. Additionally, she collaborated with her cousin Tony Lares in forming The New Generation Band in 1985.
