Sheila Crump Johnson is an American business executive, philanthropist, and film producer born on January 25, 1949 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. She is best known as the co-founder of BET and CEO of Salamander Hotels and Resorts.
Johnson made history as the first African-American woman to become a billionaire and has been recognized for her achievements with numerous awards. In addition to her professional endeavors, she has also ventured into film production with her debut documentary “Kicking It,” which premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.
